AMIC launches imaging Web site
The Access to Medical Imaging Coalition (AMIC) has unveiled a new Web site designed to demonstrate the imaging community's support for public policy that ensures patients have access to diagnostic imaging services.

AMIC said that the Web site (www.RightScanRightTime.org) has an educational component that provides information on how the different types of medical imaging technologies work and the images they produce.

The site also contains a searchable database of peer-reviewed research demonstrating the patient and economic value derived from medical imaging. Visitors also will learn about policy solutions to drive proper utilization of imaging equipment while preserving access to diagnostic imaging services, according to AMIC.

The coalition, which represents more than 100,000 physicians, medical providers and patient organizations, said a key intent of the Web site is to create an ongoing dialogue with the policymaker community about the personal value of imaging.
