Axolotl reports Western Colorado RHIO is operational
A regional health information organization (RHIO) in Grand Junction, Colo., has become operational in eight months, and is reporting improved efficiency in patient care, according to Aloxoltl, a Mountain View, Calif.-based healthcare information systems developer.

The Quality Health Network (QHN) quick-launched the RHIO using a hybrid of federated and central models, helping to eliminate the fear of sharing information with competitors who were participating side-by-side in the project, Axolotl said.

Axolotl also reported that QHN chose its Elysium EdgeServer, an integrated application that links hospital, lab and radiology information systems to the ambulatory care community, for the RHIO transition.
