Bronx RHIO bulks up membership
The addition of St. Barnabas Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York amounts to 11 corporate members for the Bronx regional health information organization (RHIO).

The Bronx RHIO, which began in late 2006 with a $4.1 million New York state grant, now represents more than half of the practicing physicians and two-thirds of inpatient care in the New York City borough.

Emerging Health Information Technology of Yonkers, N.Y., is the principal contactor. The subcontractors include Israeli-based dbMotion for its integration and data exchange platform technology, and St. Paul, Minn.-based RxHub for prescription information from pharmacy benefit management firms.
