Carestream Health has been granted a Health Canada medical device license for its DRX-1 system and will immediately begin taking orders for the digital radiography system in Canada.

The company said its DRX-1 system is a wireless, cassette-sized DR detector designed to fit existing x-ray rooms without modification. Since the new detector can be employed in applications where a 14 x 17-inch x-ray cassette would be used, it can be incorporated into most radiology environments and does not require modification of existing rooms.
