CMS selects CGI Federal for $27M Medicare enrollment system
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has chosen CGI Federal, a wholly owned operating subsidiary of CGI Group, to implement CMS’ provider enrollment chain and ownership system (PECOS).

The two year effort, valued at approximately $27 million, will enhance PECOS and enable state governments to voluntarily adopt it as the Medicaid enrollment system for all providers and suppliers, according to the Fairfax, Va.-based company. PECOS is already the established system for Medicare providers and suppliers.

CGI said its system will create a consolidated provider enrollment form to establish a common basis for much of the data collected while supporting state-specific data that can be integrated into the system.
