CoActiv updates Conn. hospital
Gaylord Hospital, a long-term acute care hospital in Wallingford, Conn., selected CoActiv Medical to supply its EXAM-PACS family of products to support the acquisition, analysis, distribution and archiving of medical images, according to the software and IT systems provider.

Gaylord is expanding its 109-bed facility to 137 beds in 2008, and currently utilizes x-ray imaging only. Prior to the PACS installation, exams were acquired in analog format. Gaylord representatives said they updated its system because outside patients were entering the hospital with exams in other modalities, and they wanted to create a means of viewing and storing these studies.

According to the Ridgefield, Conn.-based CoActiv, the PACS and CR systems were installed and running in a day.
