Consorta taps TAMS for its CT scanners
Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) will supply group purchasing organization (GPO) Consorta with its computed tomography (CT) scanners for the next 18 months.

 The contract will include TAMS' Aquilion 16 multislice scanner and run through May 2005. There currently are 20 Aquilion 16 systems installed throughout Consorta's healthcare network.

 Consorta is the largest Catholic GPO in the United States and the sixth-largest overall GPO, with a roster of 473 acute-care facilities and some 1,700 non-acute care sites. Member facilities include Ascension Health in St. Louis, Mo.; Caritas Christi Health Care in Boston; St. John Health System in Tulsa, Okla.; and Wheaton Franciscan Services Inc. in Wheaton, Ill.
