Contracts for Acceletronics, InStar Systems, NOMOS
Acceletronics, an oncology equipment service provider and radiotherapy equipment distributor, installed four TheraView Electronic Portal Imaging Devices (EPID) at Tacoma Valley Radiation Oncology Centers, Tacoma, Wash., and one at Ventura County Radiation Center, Ventura, Calif. The TheraView EPID is an image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) cancer treatment verification system, designed by Dutch manufacturer Cablon Medical BV.


InStar Systems International, a provider of radiology practice management systems, has entered into an agreement with Texas Healthcare Network (THN) for the provision of its radiology information system (RIS). Under the agreement, THN, which provides technologies to healthcare organizations with less than 200 beds in Texas, will make InStar’s RIS available to its member base. Fifty member organizations covered under the THN umbrella will have access to InStar’s RIS through a co-op of IT services offered through THN.


NOMOS Radiation Oncology (NOMOS), a division of North American Scientific, has placed its first nomosSTAT Encore system at Finger Lakes Radiation Oncology, Clifton Springs, N.Y. nomosSTAT Encore is a radiation therapy system for serial tomotherapy intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). The NOMOS products will be bundled with a linear accelerator (Linac) to provide a complete serial tomotherapy IMRT treatment system. The nomosSTAT system received FDA 510(k) clearance in July, and this transaction represents the first placement of the system in a facility.
