Agfa HealthCare announces that it has successfully installed ORBIS in its Italian pilot site, the Italian Malzoni Hospital (Clinica Medica Malzoni) in Avellino, part of the Malzoni Hospital Group (Gruppo Malzoni). ORBIS is a hospital and clinical information system (HIS/CIS) designed to manage the entire patient-centric information flow through all hospital departments. The system allows for the enhancement of the quality of patient care by giving fast access to all patient records, including images and data. These records are made available to authorized staff, allowing for quicker and better diagnoses and treatment. As ORBIS contributes to the implementation of workflow-based clinical paths, linked to the related administrative processes, the system also plays a key role in the improvement of efficiency in the hospital sector. During the first installation phase in the Malzoni Hospital Group, which started five months ago, four ORBIS modules (Master Data & Security, Ward Graphic, Medical Documentation and Order Entry & Result Reporting) were installed in the Obstetric-Gynaecology department of the Malzoni Hospital Group.
Medhost announced that Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital of Beaumont, Texas has upgraded to a full suite implementation of its Medhost system by adding the company’s physician documentation and order entry software modules. Baptist Beaumont’s clinicians will now utilize more innovative technology to increase patient safety and decrease patient wait times.
Since going live with Medhost’s patient tracking and nurse charting modules, Baptist Beaumont has benefited from the true touch ED solution, and because of current success and acceptance by its clinicians. Medhost’s bedside order-entry system will enable Baptist Beaumont’s physicians to quickly initiate care at the patient’s side or from anywhere in the ED, which will remove delays in care. The highly intuitive physician documentation module integrates with nurse charting to provide a complete patient chart without redundant data.
Zonare Medical Systems recently installed its z.one ultrasound system at Emory Healthcare’s Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy in Atlanta. Emory selected the system for its versatility, image quality and ease of use, the company said.
