Dalsa wins $2.4M contract for digital mammo cameras
DALSA Corporation of Ontario, Canada has received a $2.4 million contract to provide digital x-ray cameras to a leading manufacturer of mammography equipment for hospitals and clinics. The cameras are expected to be delivered to the customer by the end of the second quarter of 2005.

Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The DALSA CCD (charge-coupled device) cameras are direct replacements for film-based x-ray cassettes and are used for small field (50mm x 50mm), high resolution radiography applications such as diagnostic spot mammography, needle localization, and stereotactically guided needle breast biopsy. The cameras provide for a less intrusive procedure for breast biopsy and reduced x-ray levels for the patient.
