Deceitful imaging-center entrepreneur headed for jail

The Mid-Atlantic imaging-center proprietor who was convicted of healthcare fraud last winter after two patients died due to interpretation of chest X-rays by nonmedical staff has received his sentence.

Rafael Chikvashvili of Baltimore, once the owner of Alpha Diagnostics in suburban Owings Mills, Md., will serve 10 years in prison and two years of supervised release, the Baltimore Sun reported June 15.
