Denver provider installs Toshiba Aquilion CT system
Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver has installed Toshiba America Medical Systems' Aquilion One dynamic volume CT system in its Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.

The hospital will use the Aquilion One to support more than 80 specialties, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, diabetes management, orthopedics, pediatrics, emergency medicine and its wound healing/limb preservation program, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based Toshiba.

The company said its Aquilion One dynamic volume CT can image the brain or heart in one rotation, and show functions, including blood flow and movement, in less time than traditional multi-detector CT systems. The Aquilion also includes SUREExposure pediatric software to measure the size and age of each patient and tailor radiation dose to ensure the patient receives only the radiation required.

Presbyterian/St. Luke's has 680 licensed beds, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children has 164-licensed beds.
