DOD awards ONI contract for extremity MRI systems
The Defense Logistics Agency of the United States Department of Defense (DOD) has inked a supplier contract with ONI Medical Systems Inc., a leading provider of high-field (1.0 Tesla) open, dedicated extremity MRI systems.

ONI will offer its OrthOne high-field, open, 1.0 Tesla extremity MRI system to all branches of the DOD, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Department of Veteran Affairs.

The OrthOne MRI system provides the clinical benefits of high-field performance, as well as quick and easy scanning capabilities for operators and a comfortable patient-friendly open environment, for a lower cost than is typically expected for a full-body MRI systems, ONI said.

The installation is expected to be completed at a Department of Defense Medical Center in the U.S. later this year.
