Eclipsys extends UPHS contract
Healthcare informatics development firm Eclipsys has signed a new contract extending its current agreement with the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) in Philadelphia. The company will be providing its Sunrise Pharmacy, Knowledge-Based Medication Administration, and Knowledge-Based Charting applications as well as Los Angeles-based Zynx Health's evidence-based order sets.

UPHS will add Sunrise Pharmacy and Knowledge-Based Medication Administration to its existing implementation of Eclipsys' Knowledge-Based computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system, according to the Boca Raton, Fla.-based company.

The new contract also includes Eclipsys' evidence-based content and Zynx Health's evidence-based order sets to help UPHS standardize on care-delivery processes across its inpatient facilities, which includes the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, the company said.
