ECRI nabs U.S. Air Force contract
The U.S. Air Force awarded ECRI Institute, a nonprofit medical research organization, a new contract to deploy its Alerts Tracker, a web-based, automated hazard and recall alert management system, at 80 Air Force facilities worldwide.

The Plymouth Meeting, Penn.-based ECRI Institute said Alerts Tracker utilizes results from its investigations involving medical devices, drugs, recall information from the U.S. FDA, manufacturers, and other sources. The Alerts Tracker then electronically distributes these alerts directly to appropriate staff in each facility.

The Air Force will also renew its membership in ECRI Institute’s Health Devices Gold, a suite of information resources used to guide healthcare IT; Health Devices Online System, a service providing evaluations, guidance articles, hazard and user experience reports and talk-to-the-specialist articles; and Health Devices International Sourcebase, an online database of medical products and their manufacturers, suppliers and servicers.
