Elekta notches St. Petersburg Gamma Knife order
Swedish radiotherapy device developer Elekta reported that it had received an order to deliver its Leksell Gamma Knife 4C to a new hospital under construction in St. Petersburg, Russia. The facility will become the second hospital in Russia to offer non-invasive stereotactic radiosurgery for tumors and other brain disorders, according to the Stockholm-based firm.

The Diagnostic and Treatment Center at the International Institute of Biological Systems in St. Petersburg, Russia, will open for patients in the spring of 2008 as privately owned center for the treatment of neurological disorders, Elekta said.
