Emageon signs contracts with Meriter Hospital and BJC HealthCare
Emageon will provide its medical image visualization and workflow integration technologies at Meriter Hospital and BJC HealthCare in 2004.

The new system will integrate with Meriter's existing storage area network, billing systems, scheduling, ordering, specialized clinical applications and the hospital's recently implemented electronic medical record (EMR). The integration will create what Emageon calls its Intelligent Visual Medical Record (IVMR), providing multi-specialty images, related information and advanced visualization toolsets.

Meriter Hospital is a not-for-profit, 448-bed community hospital in Madison, Wis.

The St. Louis, Mo.-based BJC HealthCare and its 13 hospitals will receive medical image visualization, content management and workflow integration products and services. The enterprise application will also integrate intelligent visualization tools into BJC's existing EMR.

Implementation will begin with conversion from a film environment to digital at the 489-bed Missouri Baptist Medical Center in West St. Louis County. Four more hospitals are budgeted to roll out Emageon solution components in 2004.
