English hospital chooses Varian
The new Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, England, has selected Varian Medical Systems to install radiotherapy equipment.

Scheduled to open in the summer of 2009, Queen Alexandra will provide acute services, currently spread across three sites, at one location, which includes the oncology center at St Mary's Hospital in Portsmouth, England. The new facility will serve a population of 600,000.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian said that the new hospital will receive four high-energy Clinac iX linear accelerators equipped with On-Board Imager devices for image-guided radiation therapy treatments.
