Funeral this week for Vt. radiologist killed by drunk driver

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday to celebrate the life of Kenneth Najarian, MD, a radiologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center who was killed by a drunk driver last week.

Najarian was on a pre-dinner bicycle ride in Ferrisburgh near his home on June 17 when he was struck by a car driven by Holly Gonyeau, according to a Burlington Free Press report. Police said Goneyeau’s preliminary breath test showed a 0.123 percent blood alcohol content and she was cited on a charge of first-offense driving under the influence.

The investigation is ongoing. Further information about memorial services for Najarian is available online.
