GE installs its 500th PET/CT, announces enhancements to systems at ASCO
GE Healthcare announced at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting May 13 - 17 in Orlando that the company has delivered its 500th Discovery PET/CT scanner.

GE's Discovery CT combines positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) in a single, non-invasive exam to provide physicians with both metabolic and anatomic information to assist in the detection, diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring of cancer. GE's new Advantage 4D technology provides clinically relevant information on the true shape of anatomical objects in motion and identifies the precise range of motion, thus contributing to effective radiotherapy planning, GE said.
