GEs MR coils bag FDA green light
The FDA has cleared GE Healthcare’s GEM suite of surface coils designed for the company’s Optima MR450w 1.5T MRI.
The Geometry Embracing Method (GEM) MR coils are receive-only radiofrequency surface coils fit for 98 percent of exam types, Waukesha, Wis.-based GE Healthcare said. The suite includes automatic best-fit configuration selection and covers a 205-cm scanning range, supporting feet-first scans for all exams, GE stated.
