Siemens Medical Solutions has inked a 10-year, multi-faceted agreement with Holy Redeemer Health System of Meadowbrook, Pa. The contract confirms that Siemens will be the healthcare provider's principal technology and service provider.

Holy Redeemer will first upgrade its clinical and financial application from Siemens Invision platform to Siemens new generation Soarian platform. In addition, Siemens said Holy Redeemer will purchase new diagnostic imaging equipment, a new radiology information system, and Siemens latest generation picture archiving and communications system (PACS).

Holy Redeemer also will outsource its information technology (IT) operations to Siemens. "About 30 IT employees at Holy Redeemer will continue to serve the health system on-site, but will now work for Siemens," says Holy Redeemer vice president and CIO Anne Searle, who is overseeing and will manage the relationship with Siemens.

Holy Redeemer also extended the term of its multi-vendor Integrated Service Management agreement with Siemens and has incorporated new equipment into the agreement. Siemens said it will provide Holy Redeemer with preferred pricing on equipment purchases and service contracts, along with the highest levels of service response and incentive-based performance guarantees.
