IBM to deploy EHRs in Canadian province for $21M
IBM has earned a CAD $22.5 million (U.S. $21.3 million) project with the Government of Manitoba to create an EHR system using dbMotion.

Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM will deliver a cross-discipline integration solution of information to allow clinicians access to real-time and integrated clinical information from various sources, according to the company.

According to IBM, the design and development of the EHR system for Manitoba will begin with early deployment planned for 2010.

Funding for the development of the Manitoba EHR was provided by both the Province of Manitoba and Canada Health Infoway.
