Intelerad links Global's mobile MRI service
Wimbledon, England-based Global Diagnostics Ltd. has selected Intelerad Medical Systems Inc.'s IntelePACS to supply a Web-based PACS for its mobile MRI service throughout the United Kingdom.
Global's mobile units are fitted with MRIs from a range of manufacturers and will now be connected through the PACS. IntelePACS offers a Web-based JPEG 2000 viewer optimized for internet communications for both diagnostic users and referring clinicians. The InteleViewer features include an Advanced Layout Manager (ALM) toolset with support for complex layout protocols, as well as lossless and lossy compression levels adjustable by modality to speed image delivery over all bandwidths, said Intelerad.
Based on the success in the United Kingdom, Global Diagnostics will shortly install IntelePACS in Australia through its sister company Imaging the South Group Pty. Ltd. As part of this program, IntelePACS will link their operations in the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
