Agfa HealthCare announced Tuesday that the Life Healthcare Group in South Africa has selected Agfa’s PACS for its newly opened flagship Fourways Hospital. The group will in a later stage roll out the technology within the other hospitals of the group. Located in Fourways, South Africa, the 194-bed hospital will install Agfa's IMPAX 6.0 and also its latest RIS solution.

The University Imaging Center in Vineland, N.J., has installed NovaPACS by NovaRad.

Laughlin Memorial Hospital and Royal Philips announced the installation of Tennessee’s first Ambient Experience suite featuring a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) system, as well as the installation of the state’s first 4.0T combination (MR) suites, comprised of a high-field 3.0T whole body and a high-field 1.0T open system. The Ambient Experience suite allows patients to instantaneously personalize the lighting, projected images, and other elements of the exam room, giving them a greater sense of comfort and control over their experience.

A new radiography skills center opened in London, backed by equipment donated by Varian Medical Systems. The Saad Centre for Radiography Clinical Skills Education’s focus is to provide a major boost in training future radiotherapy radiographers. As its contribution to the project, Varian has donated 10 Eclipse treatment planning systems.

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y., one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems, announced it has installed two z.one ultrasound systems in its Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory. The z.one system from ZONARE Medical Systems is a convertible ultrasound platform.
