London hospital to acquire Varian cancer treatment systems
The London Clinic, an independent U.K. hospital, will acquire Varian Medical Systems' Trilogy, an all-in-one linear accelerator, so it can offer cancer treatments to patients.

As part of a £70 million ($101 million U.S.) investment to mark its 75th anniversary, The London Clinic will introduce the radiotherapy services to its patients when its new cancer treatment center opens in 2009. The London Clinic treats about 20,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually.

The hospital has acquired a Varian Clinac iX linear accelerator and a full suite of Eclipse treatment planning software, according to the Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian.
