Louisiana hospital signs $8M deal with McKesson for EHRs
Opelousas General Health System (OGHS) has signed an $8 million agreement with McKesson to deploy a range of clinical, automation and financial solutions.

OGHS of Opelousas, La., will use McKesson’s Horizon Clinicals solution suite to create a comprehensive EHR for patients, according to the company. Using a range of Horizon Clinicals, the hospital will be able to connect clinical point-of-care applications to an electronic data repository, McKesson said. The company also said the computerized physician order entry service will provide physicians and other clinicians with evidence-based guidelines for decision making.

OGHS, a 188-bed full service medical center, has fully comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center and outpatient oncology programs, as well as a Women’s Health Center and a Pediatric Treatment Unit.
