McKesson assists IU Health with ICD-10, ANSI 5010 regs
As part of its strategy to prepare for ICD-10 and ANSI 5010 regulations, Indiana University Health (IU Health) Bloomington and Paoli Hospital recently went live on the McKesson’s Horizon Patient Folder electronic documentation management system.

The technology helps providers transition to new billing, coding and electronic data interchange requirements while continuing to support existing transactions.

In addition to supporting new federal standards on reimbursements, the technology is Stage 1 meaningful use certified. Providers using the technology can grant secure patient access to the medical record, including diagnostic test results, medication lists and procedures. The system also gives patients information to take a more active role in their own healthcare.

The electronic documentation management system has document management and document imaging capabilities that help providers electronically capture, index and complete the EMR on a single platform. The technology gives portability to patient data and automates the claims submission process.
