Miami Jewish Health Systems to deploy Motorola WLAN apps
Motorola has announced that its HIPAA-compliant end-to-end wireless LAN (WLAN) and AirDefense applications will be deployed at Miami Jewish Health Systems in Florida to support current and future mobility initiatives.

IT company Agilysys will include the Motorola components in its WLAN deployment at Miami Jewish Health Systems. The 802.11n WLAN software utilizes Motorola’s wireless switches, coupled with dual- and tri-radio access points to ensure complete wireless coverage, Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola said.

Motorola’s tri-radio 802.11n access point allows one radio to be dedicated to security and troubleshooting, while the remaining radios provide access for healthcare applications, the company said.

In addition, Miami Jewish Health Systems has installed Motorola's AirDefense wireless security and monitoring software to protect against wireless security threats and help meet HIPAA compliance guidelines, Motorola said. The AirDefense software provides system monitoring and includes tools for reporting, compliance and remote troubleshooting of the new wireless network, according to the company.
