North Dakota contracts Initiate Systems for MDM deployment
North Dakota has signed a contract with Initiate Systems to implement a new master client index (MCI) as part of the State’s conversion to a new Medicaid management information system (MMIS), enabling real-time views of data spread across multiple systems and databases.

“The State is implementing the new system to meet an increasing need to improve data sharing across departments and programs,” said Jennifer Witham, director of IT services division, North Dakota Department of Human Services.

Initially, the project will garner an index of an estimated 500,000 records, which are currently stored within North Dakota’s 20-year-old client index. These records will provide information for Medicaid, the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, food stamps, child support enforcement, developmental disabilities and child welfare information systems.
