Philips offers transcriptions over the iPhone/iPad
Beginning next week, Royal Philips Electronics will be offering dictation recorder apps for Apple’s iPhone and iPad.
The application, Philips Recorder, enables wireless digital dictation through seamless integration with the company’s SpeechExec Enterprise suite. Via the pairing, customers will be able to dictate into the mobile devices and send the recordings to transcriptionists using either 3G or Wi-Fi.
Additional features will include a mode of recording initiated and paused by shaking the iPhone or iPad and settings to prioritize transcription of urgent reports. According to Philips, headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, the encrypted recordings can be sent either by email or network folder to registered transcriptionists.
