Pinehurst Surgical installs Allscripts ERH
Allscripts Healthcare Solutions has announced that Pinehurst Surgical located in North Carolina has made the move to eliminate all paper patient charts by installing TouchWorks Electronic Health Record (EHR) from Allscripts.
The hope is that Pinhurst Surgical -- which is the largest surgical group in the southern portion of the state -- will lead to further EHR implementations and that the region will eventually have a safe, secure and interoperable health information technology system.
The 28 physicians who are part of the group have begun to see improvements in workflow through the system which allows physicians to enter medical information into their patients' records at the point-of-care, Allscripts said. The EHR also is connecting the five satellite locations that are part of the group by connecting doctors with each other, outside laboratories and pharmacies.
Additionally, Pinehurst Surgical will integrate TouchWorks with its existing Groupcast practice management solution from IDX Systems Corp.
