Radianse announces new active-RFID lPS installations
Radianse Inc. recently announced a number of new installations of its active-RFID indoor positioning solution (IPS) at different healthcare organizations across the country.

Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn., has installed a Radianse IPS to improve equipment management and patient and staff flows across Perioperative Services and the Cardiac Thoracic Intensive Care unit. Close to a thousand pieces of medical equipment are covered by a Radianse IPS.

Located in Harrisburg, Pa., PinnacleHealth Hospitals has installed a Radianse IPS at its Harrisburg and Community Campuses. By installing the system the organization will institute real-time patient location, including objective time-stamps for any defined clinical event. These data are automatically recorded in a PeriOptimum workflow management application which PinnacleHealth has also implemented.

Also, St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., a member of Ascension Health, has installed a Radianse IPS in collaboration with Awarix. Radianse active-RFID location tags are assigned to inpatients and outpatients whose care plans require procedures in the cath lab, radiology and gastrointestinal departments. The hospitals hope that the systems will help increase capacity and improve care.
