Richardson Electronics to acquire imaging equipment service company IMES

Richardson Healthcare, the division of Richardson Electronics focused on components and replacement parts for the diagnostic imaging market, has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of International Medical Equipment and Service (IMES).

South Carolina-based IMES offers services for major brands of CT and MRI equipment, and a statement from Richardson Healthcare said the acquisition will allow the company to “provide cost effective diagnostic imaging replacement parts and training to hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers, medical institutions, and independent service organizations.”

Core operations of IMES will remain in South Carolina, according to the statement.
