Scottish hospital selects Sectra radiology IT-system
Swedish IT and medical company, Sectra AB, has signed a seven-year contract with Dr. Gray's Hospital Elgin, Scotland, for an integrated radiology IT system comprising the company's picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and radiology information system (RIS).

Due to the major differences in the healthcare structures in various countries, Sectra said its RIS is only available in selected markets. In other markets Sectra cooperates with local RIS companies. Sectra PACS is sold on a worldwide basis.

Dr. Gray's Hospital Elgin in Scotland is a district general hospital performing approximately 35,000 radiology exams per year. The integrated systems will enable the radiology department at Dr. Gray's Hospital Elgin to work in a filmless environment, and support the move to a paper-free environment when the organization makes the move to electronic requesting.
