Scottish hospital selects Siemens SPECT camera
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, part of NHS Grampian, has installed a second Symbia S SPECT system with IQ•SPECT from Siemens Healthcare.

The Scottish-based hospital’s nuclear medicine department plans to use the new Symbia S primarily for cardiac work, and chose IQ•SPECT to help increase patient throughput, Siemens said. The hospital has also installed Symbia.net, a clinical workflow server which allows the processing and reading of SPECT and SPECT•CT studies regardless of location.

The Symbia S combines improved image quality with workflow automation and handles higher patient volume, according to the Erlangen, Germany-based company.
