Medical technology company Endosense has teamed up with Siemens Healthcare on a joint development project to integrate Endosense's catheter contact-force data with Siemens electrophysiology products.

The agreement means Geneva-based Endosense will provide contact-force data from its TactiCath force-sensing ablation catheter to be integrated into Siemens' electrophysiology software. The companies hope to develop an all-in-one application for visualizing catheter-tip-to-tissue contact force within a 3D anatomic heart model for use during catheter ablation procedures.

Endosense's TactiCath is currently used by electrophysiologists to treat atrial fibrillation and supraventricular tachycardia, the company said.
