Siemens, Kindred sign CT deal
Siemens Medical Solutions announced today that Kindred Healthcare Inc. will install 12 Somatom Emotion Duo CT scanners in its network of long-term acute-care hospitals.
Siemens said it began working with Kindred two years ago on all aspects of the project - from siting and room preparation, to equipment specifications, service and training. A cross-organizational team has been assembled to plan and monitor the project. As part of the process, Siemens said it hosted online conferences to provide an open forum for the 12 individual Kindred Hospitals to learn about Siemens CT technology, training and installation.
The Somatom Emotion Duo provides sub-second scanning, a wide range of clinical applications, and twice the performance of single slice CTs through its Lightning UFC dual-detector technology.
The Somatom Emotion Duo will be installed in numerous Kindred Healthcare facilities across the United States. The first Somatom Emotion Duo CT was installed December 13, Siemens said.
