Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, Ala., has installed Toshiba America Medical Systems’ Aquilion ONE dynamic volume CT.
The Aquilion ONE utilizes 320 ultra-high resolution detector rows (0.5 mm in width) to image an entire organ in a single x-ray gantry rotation. The system also produces a 4D clinical video showing up to 16 cm of anatomical coverage, enough to capture the entire brain or heart, and show its movement such as blood flow, Toshiba said.

Springhill Medical Center said it plans to use the Aquilion ONE to treat at-risk patients with a variety of medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, cerebral vascular disease and musculoskeletal injuries, according to the company.
