Toshiba America Medical Systems said it has installed of two Infinix CF-i/BP vascular x-ray systems at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center, located at the Egleston hospital campus.

“We selected this X-ray system because of the versatility of the five-axis bi-plane system, flat panel detector movement and C-arm flexibility,” said Robert Vincent, MD, pediatric cardiologist and head of the cardiac catheterization department at Sibley.

According to the Tustin, Calif.-based Toshiba, by conducting the imaging exam using two planes simultaneously, physicians are able to reduce the amount of contrast media given to pediatric patients compared with a single-plane imaging system.
