Two guilty pleas offered in San Antonio military radiology fraud case

A pair of former radiology officials submitted plea deals in response to fraud charges in connection to a San Antonio military medical center.

Army Master Sgt. Lawrence Peter Fenti and Heidi Lynn Webster, MD, will plead guilty in court for wire fraud, as prosecutors allege they steered more than $7 million in military contracts to two of Webster’s companies, according to reports from the San Antonio Express-News and the Associated Press.

Fenti was formerly the chief administrator of the radiology department at Brooke Army Medical Center. Webster worked at the center, but also founded two companies registered as defense contractors, MRI Resources Inc. and Pro Veteran Staffing Inc.

Webster will plead guilty to offering a bribe to Fenti and Fenti has agreed to plead guilty to accepting it.
