VA selects ESN to upgrade VistA for HIPAA standards
Engineering Services Network (ESN) won a $7.9 million contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to upgrade the agency's Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) to meet HIPAA electronic transaction standards for enabling a third-party payment system.

The Veterans Technology Services Governmentwide Acquisition Contract task order has a value of $7.9 million for the first year. If all options are awarded, the contract is worth a total of $10.9 million, according to the Arlington, Va.-based technology company.

ESN was awarded the contract for work through Nov. 30, and optional tasks may be awarded by Dec. 1.
