Voalt heads Midwest
Nonprofit health system Parkview Health System, based in Fort Wayne, Ind., has established an agreement with communications company Voalté to provide wireless communication for nurses and clinicians.

The Voalté One application is a communications tool enabling users to send and receive text messages, make voice calls across the hospital VoIP system and receive critical care alarms on the iPhone, according to the Sarasota, Fla.-based company.

Parkview has initiated a pilot deployment in two of its hospitals and will become the first hospital group to implement the tool in the Midwest. According to Voalté, the implementation at Parkview will include Voalté’s text messaging feature, as well as voice calls made over the enterprise networking company Meru Networks’ VoIP-enabled network.
