CHICAGO—RSNA is a chance for those in the radiology community to meet, swap stories and share information about the latest developments in imaging. In that spirit, Health Imaging will be talking to people at the meeting each day and asking them each one question. We’ll share a few responses each day, so be sure to keep an eye out for them in our newsletter or check the RSNA section of our website.

Today’s question:

The conference’s theme this year is “The Power of Partnership.” Why is this an important theme for RSNA?

 - Per Skaane“The power of partnership improves connections across cultures and between radiologists. The theme is important because there’s going to be more and more teamwork needed in the field of radiology.”

Per Skaane, MD, University of Oslo

 - Iain Kirkpatrick“If radiologists are going to be relevant in the healthcare field, they’re going to need to partner with other clinical areas in order to better care for the patient.”

Iain Kirkpatrick, MD, FRCPC, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada

 - Samuel Plesner“Whether it comes between the partnership of doctors and other healthcare professionals or doctors and their patients, it’s important that everyone’s working together for the benefit of the community as a whole and for the patients. In a true partnership, everyone’s working in a very congruous relationship so that the overall outcome for everyone involved will be vastly improved.”

Samuel Plesner, MS, Rocky Vista University, Castle Rock, Colorado
