Mass. breast density notification bill signed into law

Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick has signed the state’s breast density notification bill into law, making Massachusetts the 18 th state to enact such a law.

Counting the new Massachusetts law, 56 percent of American women live in a state that has passed a mandatory breast density notification bill, according to Are You Dense, Inc., which advocates for notification laws.

Delaware, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and South Carolina all have similar bills active in their state legislatures. A federal bill has been introduced in the House by Reps. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Steve Israel (D-NY).
