Former J-Co prez joins Awarepoint
Dennis O’Leary, MD, former Joint Comission president, has joined real-time location system developer Awarepoint as its chief strategy officer.

In the role, O’Leary will assist CEO Jason Howe with creating, communicating and executing strategic initiatives, according to the San Diego-based Awarepoint. Prior to joining the company, he spent 21 years as president of the Joint Commission and is now its president emeritus.

Prior to his time at the Joint Commission, O’Leary served as dean for clinical affairs at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and vice president of the George Washington University Health Plan. He also is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and served as a member of the board of directors of the National Quality Forum and as a member of the advisory council of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
