Oncology Imaging: Streamlining Diagnosis and Treatment
 
Oncology imaging is striving to more precisely pinpoint and treat potentially dangerous tumors, in particularly susceptible regions such as the lungs, prostate and head and neck. A variety of systems that promise to accurately track patient and tumor positioning, as well as treatment solutions, will be on display this year.

BrainLAB (Booth 7753) is unveiling its targeted treatment planning and delivery technology for stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).

Civco Medical Solutions (Booth 8210) is featuring its new RFSuite of tools as well as its SBRT Body-Lok system.

CoActiv Medical Business Solutions (Booth 7336) is showcasing its new Exam-RT Archive, a digital viewing, archiving and retrieval platform for radiation therapy-related information. 

Definiens (Booth 3672) is introducing a new image analysis application that allows radiologists to analyze lymph nodes volumetrically and compare them over time.

EDDA Technology (Booth 203) is releasing its IQQA-Liver Enterprise, a toolset for assessment of volumetry of liver, liver lobes and segments, hepatic lesions and vascular structures from multidetector CT.

iCAD (Booth 6250) is launching new CAD analysis and clinical decision support tools that work in combination with CT and MRI imaging modalities. 

Median Technologies (Booth 9157) is showcasing its LMS (lesion management solutions) product line. LMS applications feature LMS-Liver, LMS-Lung/Track, LMS-Lung and LMS-Colon.

Medicsight (Booth 4076) is highlighting its ColonCAD product, which is expected to be available for clinical use in the United States during the first half of 2009.

MIMvista (Booth 2015) is demonstrating the VoxAlign Deformation Engine, which allows for atlas-based segmentation and re-contouring for adaptive therapy and gated studies.

(Booth 1309) is displaying its OnGuard chest x-ray CAD technology. OnGuard identifies solitary pulmonary nodules that may be early-stage lung cancer.

Siemens Healthcare (Booth 922) is highlighting its syngo Lung CAD, syngo CXR CAD and syngo MammoCAD suite of products.

syngo Lung CAD provides automated detection of solid pulmonary nodules in thoracic CT studies.
syngo CXR CAD, which is not yet FDA-approved for sale in the U.S., is a second-reader product for the detection of lung nodules in digital chest x-ray studies.

syngo MammoCAD, which is not yet FDA-approved for sale in the U.S.,  is a CAD solution for full-field digital mammography.

Varian Medical Systems
(Booth 6221) is showcasing its RapidArc radiotherapy technology, which offers all the benefits of IMRT in shorter treatment times, as well as solutions for brachytherapy, image-guided radiotherapy and proton therapy.
