Nuance Communications is sponsoring and participating in Virtual Lab developed by AHIMA. Virtual Lab is a completely online environment funded by AHIMA’s Foundation of Research and Education (FORE). It is designed to offer students a real-world experience in health information management (HIM) and the latest health IT. The company’s Dictaphone enterprise-level speech recognition is a part of Virtual Lab. Dictation, transcription, and speech recognition applications featured include Nuance’s Dictaphone Enterprise Express Voice and Text systems, EXSpeech for transcription-based speech recognition, and Enterprise Workstation, which will give students exposure to the physician self-editing style of speech recognition.

SoftMed Systems introduced ClinTrac Fusion, which is designed to integrate information across multiple applications and present role-specific views of that information.
