GE unveils pre-clinical CT scanner at SMI
GE Healthcare introduced the Locus Ultra, a pre-clinical CT scanner, at the 3rd annual meeting of the Society of Molecular Imaging in St. Louis, Mo., from Sept. 9 - 12.

The Locus Ultra uses flat-panel detector technology to provide quantitative physiological measurements for applications in stroke research, tumor studies, organ function, and tissue viability, GE said.

The Locus Ultra's one-second speed acquisition time enables users to perform dynamic imaging and the use of short-lived intravenous contrast agents for imaging vasculature and soft tissue anatomy. The high spatial resolution also provides anatomical detail in small animals, GE added.
