Missouri healthcare system deploys Carestream’s PACS, Vendor-Neutral Archive, Enterprise Viewer

ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 16 — Saint Francis Healthcare System (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) implemented Carestream’s Clinical Collaboration Platform including Vue PACS, Vue Archive, Vue Motion enterprise viewer and MyVue patient portal. The healthcare system also added Carestream’s advanced cardiology tools that support viewing of vascular ultrasound and echocardiogram exams.

“We appreciate the ease of use Carestream’s radiology workstations offer. Radiologists became proficient at reading exams with very little training, which expedites our workflow,” said David Forsythe, Assistant Manager of IT IP Clinical Applications Information Systems at Saint Francis Healthcare System.

He added that the Vue Radiology PACS integrated smoothly with the healthcare system’s EPIC RIS and EMR systems, which further advanced implementation. And Carestream’s Vue Motion enterprise viewer is also integrated with the medical center’s EPIC RIS, which expedites physicians’ access to patient imaging studies.

“Having a zero-footprint viewer is a major advantage and physicians have praised its ease of use. They began reviewing studies on it immediately and use it during patient consultations,” said Mr. Forsythe.

Carestream’s Vue Motion viewer provides convenient access to patient images and reports regardless of physician location. Vue Motion is FDA approved for clinical reading on a wide range of mobile devices.

The MyVue patient portal allows patients to easily and securely view and share their medical images with other physicians and healthcare systems. Both cardiology and radiology exams will be stored in Carestream’s Vue Archive that delivers highly secure, reliable storage.

“Rapid access to radiology reports and key images can help referring physicians enhance and expedite treatment decisions,” said Mr. Forsythe.
